Kayak & Canoe Rental
Rent kayaks or canoes to travel upstream through the magnificent Redwood trees. An unforgettable journey upstream is like traveling through a blue lagoon in silence surrounded by nature. Fish for Dungeness crab or fish off the docks.
Explore the Albion River at your own pace in one of our kayaks or canoes and experience the local wildlife — sea lions, elephant seals, harbor seals and otters. Birds too abound — from the always present gulls to Great Blue Herons, Ospreys, Eagles, ducks, and king fishers.
Kayak & Canoe Rentals
*Kayaks and canoes can only be rented during business hours.
*Kayaks and canoes are not rented out year-round.
We typically don’t rent them out from November through January due to King Tides and rough water conditions.
You are welcome to call our office during these months to see if we are renting them out though.
Kayaks and canoes are rented on a first come, first service basis. (They can't be reserved.)
Canoes are prohibited from going in the ocean.
A casual trip up the river and back typically takes 4 hours.
If your intent is to go upriver, we recommend that you launch one and a half hours before high tide.
We highly recommend that you learn what the wind conditions will be like. If you intend to go upriver and you aren't experienced using a kayak or canoe, we don't recommend doing so if the wind will be more than 10 miles per hour.
If you intend to rent a kayak, be prepared to get a little wet when you first get into the boat and your shoes may get wet when you return and try to get out of the boat.
We highly recommend renting a sit-on-top kayak if you don't have experience using a canoe. Canoes are easier to tip over.
Dogs are permitted in the canoes and kayaks, but we do recommend they have life jackets.
